Carpe Diem Tackle It Tuesday #18 Purity

Standard

diamondsDear Haijin, visitors and travelers,

This week we have our last “ity” of “The Song of the 18 Ities” by Sri Sivananda … it was a great ride and I have learned a lot as I hope you all did learn a lot. This week’s “Ity” is  purity  and it’s (in my opinion) the most important of this 18 “ities” … we have to be pure in all and everything … just as we were when we entered this world at the day we were born … pure and in all good.
I think it’s important to be pure like a child. Look at the world as if you see all and everything for the very first time and be happy with it. We once were children and we can become children again by looking into the world with the purity of a child.

Regularity

purity

Be pure at heart. Eradicate lust, anger and greed. Be pure in your thoughts. Think of God always. Think of the well-being of all. Be pure in your words; never utter harsh, unkind words. Be pure in body. Keep it clean and healthy. Let the dress and surroundings be clean. Observe the rules of physical, moral and spiritual hygiene.

Sri Sivananda ends his song of the 18 ities with the following lines:

These eighteen “Ities” will pave the way for you to march into the kingdom of God. They will open for you the gates of immortality. You will achieve great success in this life itself. A man who possesses these qualities in a very large measure is a saint indeed, who will be respected, adored and worshipped by one and all.

Isn’t that a great and wonderful idea? I hope these 18 weeks were a revelation and a joy …
